Santa Maria, RS - Brazil - December 3 to 18, 2024
Dr. Ana Morais recently visited the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM) in Brazil under the CAPES program, funded by the Brazilian government. The purpose of her visit was to establish international cooperation between KU and UFSM to develop research programs of mutual interest in chemical engineering.
During her stay, Dr. Morais delivered several insightful seminars on chemical catalysis and supercritical fluids, focusing on their applications in converting biomass and plastics into fuels and chemicals.
The visit was a great success, resulting in the initiation of several collaborative projects that promise to advance research in these critical areas. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Fernanda de Castilhos and Ederson Abaide for their exceptional hospitality and for making this visit possible. We also express our gratitude to all the students and faculty who attended the seminars and contributed to the fruitful discussions.
We look forward to the continued collaboration and the exciting developments that will emerge from this partnership.
