Early this week (6/5/22 - 6/7/22), Prof. Ana Morais participated in the National Science Foundation (NSF) Early Career Investigator Workshop for the division of chemistry (CHE), held in Alexandria, VA. This workshop is organized by NSF once a year and aims to prepare early carreer investigators for their proposal submission to an NSF CAREER program. There were about 50 participants in this workshop, represting multiple educational institutions across the United States. Prof. Ana Morais was the only faculty from the University of Kansas in the workshop and had the chance to discuss general science, hot research topics in the field of chemistry, and network with amazing young faculty. As part of the workshop, there were various activities designed to prepare young faculty to navigate through the challenges of writing and submitting a winning proposal to the NSF CAREER program.
In addition, this workshop was also an incredible opportunity to meed and interact with program managers from NSF, US Department of Energy (DOE) and American Chemical Society (ACS) Petroleum!
FEWLS at KU would like to thank the NSF for the invaluable opportunity. THANK YOU!
